Vincent Fouquet

About

Supernatural creatures, dreamlike worlds inspired by nature, religion, mythologies, duality or the occult: Vincent Fouquet draws his inspiration from the real and the imaginary. Native from Bretagne, France, he grew up on these coasts with steep cliffs and steeped with Celtic legends, an environment that greatly contributed to sharpening his imagination and perfecting his creations. His work is marked by a permanent opposition between good and evil, the graceful and the horrific, featuring chimeras or characters in fantastic universes.
Versatile artist, Vincent Fouquet uses different disciplines and works with Indian ink, photography or photomanipulation. Largely inspired by the works of Giger, Dali, Doré, Rembrandt, or more recent designers like Ledroit and Druillet, he recreates vanitas paintings in his own way, trying to illustrate elusive concepts like time or death.

In 2013 he creates “Above Chaos”, his graphic design studio. Many internationally music groups, festivals, labels and associations have since trusted him for the creation of their visuals (album cover, posters, t-shirts etc.). Exhibited throughout France, Europe, and Dubai, his work has also taken place permanently in the Naïa Musem, a museum dedicated to the arts of the imaginary.
